Dhirubhai Ambani- Stanford Fellowship 2010 announced

The same time of the year has come again. Reliance Industries Limited has announced its much awaited Reliance Dhirubhai Fellowhip 2010-2011. This is awarded to Indian nationals who justify the need for pursuing an MBA at Stanford GSB but can not arrange the required financial funding.

Award: 100% tuition cover and all fees associated with applying to and attending the program; this is approximately $85,000 for a single student and $95,000 for a married student

Expectations: Reliance expects the fellows to return to India within two years of graduating from Stanford and work in India for at least next two years.

Number of awards: Up to 5

Requirements:

1. You should be an Indian citizen (living in India) and must be either studying or working in India to apply for this scholarship

2. The finalists will be selected based upon their merit, commitment to developing India and financial need

3. You must apply in Round 1 of the 2011 Stanford MBA Program application submission period; which is usually in early October

4. You need to write an essay of up to 250 words on the topic - How do you aspire to shape your country’s future?

Deadline for application submission: June 1, 2010

INSEAD-Syngenta Scholarships for MBA students

Syngenta, a world-leading agribusiness committed to sustainable agriculture through innovative research and technology, offers scholarships for future leaders from emerging countries.

Criteria: You must be a national of an emerging economy and have spent substantial part of your life there. Experience in industry and need for financial assistance will also be the criteria. You will be evaluated upon your responses to these essay questions:

1) Briefly discuss the requirements for successful business leadership in your country today. Describe how you envisage contributing to the future development of your country after graduation and why you should be considered for this award. (200 words)
2) Briefly discuss measures required for sustainable agriculture in your country/region in the context of urban and rural development. Focus on what you consider to be the most important element (450 words)
3) Provide a concise but accurate description of your financial circumstances as well as a cash flow forecast for the year at INSEAD (details of income set against expenditures).

Deadline: August 18, 2010

ISB hiked its tuition fee

The Indian School of Business (ISB) has increased its tuition fee by about INR 80,000. The average cost of a single student, for a one year PGP program at ISB will now be INR 20, 20,000.

However, this revision is unlikely to deter students from studying at ISB. The school awards about 100 need and merit-based scholarships ranging from INR 1,00,000 to INR 3,50,000.Various loans and scholarships (including Citigroup – USD 12,500; Novartis – INR 4,00,000; Nurture India -INR 4,00,000; Tata Motors – INR 3,00,000 and more) are also available to assist the admitted students.

“This fee revision is merely an inflationary adjustment,” remarked a senior official from ISB. The school is ranked 12th among the global B-schools by the Financial Times , and is a sought after brand in business education.

Good news for IMD MBA applicants! IMD will give away three scholarships of CHF 30,000 each to candidates who can display exceptional leadership potential.

Criteria: You will be required to write and essay and demonstrate your potential for leadership.

‘Leadership in an era of Globalization’ – Include in your essay the criteria that you would use to select a future global leader, and why

MBA Scholarships at IMD Switzerland

Shell and IMD are offering five scholarships to students from Asia, Africa/Middle East, Latin America, Eastern Europe and Western Europe/North America/Oceania.

Scholarship amount: One scholarship (CHF 30,000) will be awarded to each area

Deadline: Last day to submit the scholarship application is 30th September, 2010

Criteria:

Students should have been accepted at IMD. Students should be citizens of the above geographical areas
An essay should be submitted on : “As a business leader, which issue would you set as your first priority to address in your region / country? Why would you choose this issue? How would you, personally, address it?” (maximum 1000 words)

Loans for Indians at Tepper – without US cosigner

Global Student Loan Corporation (GSLC) and HSBC have partnered to provide Indian applicants a seamless experience.

Now, admitted Indian applicants can avail study loans without a US cosigner. All full-time and part-time students admitted from India, can borrow up to $50,000 per loan period (every two consecutive semesters enrolled) to pay for their tuition, home rent, books and equipments. Indian applicants do not need to have a U.S. cosigner; however, a credit-worthy cosigner from India would be required. Re-payment period will be up to 15 years after you complete your MBA.
