The largest ever enrollment at Harvard (HBS)

Looking at Harvard Business School’s official statistics, the school has a yield rate of 89%. Its class of 2011 currently has 942 enrolled students, which is 42 more than last year’s entering class. HBS received total 9,093 applications and accepted 12% of the applicants.

According to The Harvard Crimson, Deirdre C. Leopold, Managing Director of MBA Admissions and Financial Aid, said that the numbers are not yet final and enrollment may settle between 930 to 940 by the time classes begin in the fall. Leopold also mentioned that the school considered adding one more section in 2008 but decided against it for some reasons, including the market conditions. However, the school should have no problem accommodating more students as classrooms are equipped for the same.

The Business School also announced that applications for admission to its 2+2 program—now in its second year—increased by 34 percent, from 631 to 844.
